辺には,Sを含む多量の微粒子が被覆し, Al, Si, Cl, Ca, K, Feの増加も認められた.これらの結果は,ディーゼルエンジンの排気ガスが植物の光合成などの生理作用に,短期間で大きく影響を及ぼすことを明らかにした.<br />Polluted narcissuses by exhaust emissions derived from a diesel engine twice a day were investigated by XRF, SEM-EDX and TEM analyses. Polluted narcissus was characterized by no flower, deformed leave and the change of color from green to yellow and black. S was increased about 6 times. About 33% of S-coated carbonaceous soots was retained through breath holes by narcissus, causing the normal breath and photosynthesis of narcissus damaged. This could be a major factor of narcissus growing abnormally during a short period (2 months).

西部) の間にある原生代末期からデボン紀にかけての造山帯 (カレドニア期) であり, 北から走廊モラッセ帯, 北祁連摺曲帯, 中央祁連地塊, 南祁連摺曲帯に区分される. この巡検では北祁連摺曲帯以北を見た. ここでは古生代前期のオフィオライト, 藍閃片岩, 花醐岩などが山脈最高部を形成し, その北麓にシルル紀ブリッシュ, その北にデボン紀以後の厚いモラッセが分布する (Song, 1996). オフィオライトは3列をなし, カンブリア紀後期からオルドビス紀後期まで, 南から北へ形成年代が若くなる傾向がある (Song, 1996).このように北へ若くなる地質ユニットの全体的な配列は, ツァイダム地塊の北への衝上 (または中朝地塊の南への沈み込み) による造山運動を暗示するが (王・劉, 1976), 花崗岩の分布などを根拠とする北への沈み込み説もある (肖・王, 1984). 藍閃片岩は南北2帯に分かれて分布し, 南側は変成度が高くエクロジャイトを伴い, 北側は変成度が低い. 変成年代はどちらも 450Ma 前後である (Wuetal., 1993). この巡検の詳細および引用文献については, 本号末尾のニュース記事を参照されたい.

(3) 布の曲げ振動パラメータのうち, 第1段直線部の振幅減衰量△d1は布の純曲げ特性および糸―糸間の摩擦に関連している.第2段直線部の振幅減衰量△d2は糸の構造および繊維―繊維間の摩擦に関連している.第1段階の振動持続時間S1は減衰の主要因摩擦項が糸―糸間の摩擦から繊維―繊維間の摩擦に移行する点を表し, 布の組織や糸一糸間の接触圧力に関連している.布の全体的な曲げ振動持続時間S2は布の純曲げ特性と繊維の集合構造に関連している.In order to evaluate beautiful appearance of clothes objectively at the final end, vibrational phenomena of fabric based on bending deformation are investigated precisely and vibrational parameters which show features of vibrational damping properties of fabric are proposed. Following conclusions were obtained : Bending vibration of fabric damped linearly with time in two steps irrespective of fiber material and yarn and/or fabric structure until the amplitude becomes approximately 1/5 of the initial amplitude. This means viscoelastic effect in the fabric is neglected in the bending vibration. Frictional effect in the fabric can be divided into two parts, namely, inter-yarn friction and inter-fiber friction. In the proposed vibrational parameters, amplitude decreaseand the 1st linear-line, Δ d1 is related to pure bending property and inter-yarn friction. Amplitude decrease at the 2nd linear-line, Δ d2 is concerned with yarn structure and inter-fiber friction. Vibration duration time at the 1st step, S1 is the point at which major frictional effect changes from inter-yarnto inter-fiber friction.Total vibration duration time, S2 is related to pure bending property and fiber assembly structure.

Stream net evolution in a drainage system in modeled with the assumption that stream elongation rate is proportional to the stream length in the system and the elongation is limited with minimum catchment area which is necessary to cultivate streams. The evolution may be connected with change in sediment discharge. The sediment discharge significantly influences some physical properties of bottom sediment in the downstream lake. Information on sedimentary process is included in some physical properties of bottom sediments; a model for the process using some physical properties of the sediments also is effective to reveal the system.

ies. Striving for high power densities and higher efficiencies has pushed the operating frequencies up, resulting in new circuit configurations and different component architecture. This paper presents a numerical method that is used to analyze magnetic systems for switching power supplies, in particular the switching resonant dc-dc converters. The method uses the harmonic balance technique combined with finite element methods and is referred to as the harmonic balance-finite element method (HBFEM). The HBFEM is used to solve various harmonic, eddy-current, hysteresis, and nonlinear problems applied to magnetic circuits used in switching power supplies. To evaluate the numerical results, comparisons are made with experimental results. © 1996 IEEE.

Static power converters are being used increasingly in power system applications. The power semiconductor switches within the converter systems must be rated to accommodate power system fault currents and system overvoltages.

Significant cost reductions can be attained by reducing the magnitude of power system fault currents. In this paper we propose the use of a novel passive current limiter to accomplish this task. The limiter consists of two magnetic devices connected in series and in magnetic counter opposition to each other. Each magnetic device consists of three slices of NdFeB permanent magnet material sandwiched between the three end poles of two ferrite E cores. Experimental and finite element results are presented and are found to be in good agreement with each other. The need for 3D modeling in the future is demonstrated. The operating characteristics of the current limiter are experimentally verified using a scaled down version of a power system.

tor of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase in seven patients with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) (defined as primary hypercholesterolemia with tendon xanthoma or primary hypercholesterolemia without tendon xanthomas and at least one first-degree relative with familial hypercholesterolemia). These patients were administrated 10 mg/d of simvastatin for up to 4 years. Simvastatin significantly reduced levels of both total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol during treatment; respective reduction rates were 28% and 34% after 1 month and 32% and 40% after 4 years. Serum high-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels slightly and insignificantly increased. Serum triglyseride levels fell significantly by 24% at month 6. After this study, all xanthomas had reduced in size. No adverse events related to simvastatin were observed. We conclude that long-term simvastatin therapy is clinically useful and well tolerated in patients with FH. Copyright © 1985 Published by Elsevier Inc.

ic resonance imaging(MRI) create strong magnetic fields within their immediate vicinity. This has generated some concerns over the effects that these fields may have on the outside environment and in particular on living organisms. 50/60Hz magnetic fields are of special concern because living organisms are exposed to them on a continuing basis.We investigate the influence of a strong 60Hz AC magnetic field of 1.2T on organisms. The high AC magnetic field is generated by using a multilayer eddy-current type AC magnetic generator developed in our laboratory. In this paper, in vitro experiments were performed with biochemical reactions, enzyme and restriction endonuclese activities.As a result, the magnetic field inhibited catalase activity slightly only in biochemical reactions. Other reactions such as β-galactosidase activity and restriction endonuclese activity were not influenced at all. The results suggest that high 60Hz AC magnetic fields may influence biological functions in some organisms.

To clarify the source of rat UTI, we performed a combination of reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), in situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry. The expression of UTI mRNA was detected by RT-PCR only in the liver and not in any other rat organs, including the kidney. In situ hybridization revealed that UTI transcripts are located exclusively in the hepatocytes and not in the nonparenchymal cells of the liver. On light microscopic immunohistochemistry, not only the hepatocytes but also the Kupffer cells of liver and the proximal tubules of kidney were immunostained with anti-UTI antibody. Immunoelectron microscopy further demonstrated that hepatocyte UTI-immunoreactivity is localized primarily on the cell surface facing the sinusoidal capillary and is also found in the Golgi apparatus. In contrast, the reactivity of Kupffer cell and proximal tubular epithelial cell was found primarily in the lysosomes. These results indicated that the liver is the only site for production of rat UTI, and that the kidney does not produce rat UTI but reabsorbs it from the primary urine.<br />出版者許可を得て登録 20191114

ortant roles in cell growth and differentiation. However, there is no published study that has focused on the expression of V-ATPase in human tumour tissues. This study was designed to examine the mRNA and protein levels for the 16 kilodalton (kDa) proteolipid of V-ATPase in human pancreatic carcinoma tissues. We first investigated the mRNA level for V-ATPase in six cases of invasive pancreatic cancers and two normal pancreases, using reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction technique. Then, we examined immunohistochemically the level of V-ATPase protein in 49 pancreatic cancers and ten benign cystic neoplasms of the pancreas, using antisera raised against the 16 kDa proteolipid. There was a notable difference in the level of V-ATPase mRNA between normal and pancreatic carcinoma tissues, with no evident difference in the expression of the β-actin gene. Immunohistochemically, 42 out of 46 invasive ductal cancers (92%) displayed a mild to marked immunoreactivity for V-ATPase in the cytoplasm, whereas neither non-invasive ductal cancers nor benign cystic neoplasms expressed detectable immunoreactive proteins. These findings suggest that the overexpression of V-ATPase protein is characteristic of invasive pancreatic tumours. V-ATPase may play some crucial roles in tumour progression.<br />Embargo Period 12 months

g. Before the intervention, she would give and take without saying a word or irrelevant words, such as “Choudai, hai” (Give me, look) in giving, and “Dozo, arigatou” (Look, thank you) in taking. In the intervention she was requested to use dolls as giver and taker imitating modeled speech of adult. Through initial manual guidance she could use dolls. It helped her conceptualize giving and taking; she could then relate words to those acts relevantly. However she would express no intent by words, representing only the acts themselves. In the end she would say “Arigatou” both as giver and taker, representing her partner's taking and her own taking. Her irrelevant word use was the result of adopting representative function of language with no consideration of actor-utterance relation. ng der Körperkultur und des Sportes in der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik"(1956), that is generally known as the first sports law in the German Democratic Republic(hereafter GDR). Through analyzing the social and sports situation in those days, the details, contents and characteristics of the law, this study examines the meaning of the law. The following results were obtained. Under the cold war, the law prescribed to show the excellence of the socialistic system in the sports field. Then the law comprehensively, concretely, systematically and concentrately prescribed to encourage all field of GDR sports as compared with the law relating sports that were decided early days in GDR. To put it concretely, the law legally prescribed the plans including the establishment of 'Schulsportgemeinschaft', the trainings of coachers and trainers, military sports, the patriotic education etc. Bihind the enactment of the law, there existed the governmental aims to imitate Soviet sports and the law regarded socialistic ideological educations and military sports as important. On the other hand the government aimed the GDR's original sports as the law regarded 'Schul sport gemein schaft' as important.

Food supply shortened larval durations, indicating that nutrition was suboptimal in the field condition. The development threshold and thermal constant for larvae were ca. 10℃ and 164 day-degrees, respectively, and those for pupae ca. 6℃ and 38 day-degrees. Proportions of instar durations to the whole larval duration were independent from temperature and nutrition. Empirical equations were given for estimating temperatures at the water surface (microhabitat of anopheline immatures) in rice fields from air temperatures.

impact torque occurring at the input shafts of robotic mechanisms subjected to impact, and to establish evaluation methods of such behavior. We have already reported that the static characteristics of the representative robotic mechanisms change with the mechanism configurations. Therefore it is presumed that the impact characteristics of robotic mechanisms will also change with their configurations. We analyze the impact behavior of the representative open-loop and closed-loop robotic mechanisms subjected to impact load using a dynamic finite-element method to clarify the impact characteristics of several configurations of these robotic mechanisms. Based on the results, we describe the relation between the impact torque behavior and attitudes of each robotic mechanism. Furthermore, this paper proposes an evaluation method of the impact characteristics of the robotic mechanisms from their static characteristics.

Due to the combination of the organic immutable behavior and the extreme behavior of water droplets, standing droplets and continuously detaching droplets on the surface, a model of condensation was developed taking into account the sweeping effect and the inundation effect. The predictions obtained using by this model agree well with the experimental results.

bending strength is investigated. The work materials used are alumina Al2O3 sintered under atmospheric pressure and Mn-Zn ferrite sintered under HIP. The results are as follows. Superfinishing is very effective in removing the machining damage and improving the bending strength of the ground ceramic. Using a finer grain under lower stone pressure makes it possible to remove the work material as chips by plastic deformation and decrease the machining damage on the surface. It is estimated that the bending strength is influenced by the median cracks which are formed under the bottom of the groove by active grains. It is possible to increase the bending strength, using the stone under the condition of glazing.

The work materials used are alumina (Al2O3), silicon carbide (SiC), silicon nitride (Si3N4) and zirconia (ZrO2), which are sintered under the atmospheric pressure, and Mn-Zn ferrite, which is sintered under HIP. The grain size of stone is changed from # 500 to # 8 000. The results are as follows. The diamond stone with suitable bonding strength makes it possible to remove the work material as chips even if its grain size is finer than # 1 000. Two types of chips are obserbed; one is the crack-type chips which are made by brittle fracture, and the other is the flow-type chips which are made by plastic deformation. As the grain size of stone becomes smaller, the shape of chips changes from crack-type to flow-type. The critical grain size is dependent on the work materials and it becomes smaller in the order of ZrO2, Mn-Zn ferrite, Al2O3, Si3N4 and SiC. The condition of making the flow-type chips is important to obtain the mirror surface of ceramics.

oil type coolant in removing chips from the stone because of its poor permeability. Electrolytic in-process dressing is applied to promote the self-dressing of diamond stone. As work materials, alumina which is sintered under atmospheric pressure and soft steel (equivalent to 0.15% carbon steel) are used. The results obtained are as follows. Electrolytic in-process dressing makes it possible to use the coolant of water-solution in superfinishing. The suitable conditions in electrolytic in-process dressing depend on the machinability of work materials. The soft steel whose chips are easy to make a loading on the working surface of stone needs the stronger dressing. A concentration of some percent is sufficient for a coolant to maintain its essential properties. The electrolytic in-process dressing is more effective for harder or finer stone, because it can control the cutting ability of the stone.

to employ the electrolytic dressing. As work materials, a carbon steel S 45 C, a bearing steel SUJ 2 and alumina are used. The results obtained are as follows. It is effective for control of electrolytic dressing to change the operating time of electrolysis or the ratio of on-time to off-time in electric pulse. As the dressing becomes stronger, the cutting ability of stone improves and the metal removal rate becomes larger. As the dressing becomes weaker, the cutting ability of stone is lost and then the surface roughness of workpiece becomes smaller. The cutting ability of stone which has been lost in finishing operation can be regenerated again applying the strong electrolysis. This in-process dressing method makes it possible to obtain the intended finishing performances of metal removal rate and surface roughness, and to finish several work materials of different machinability using a same kind of stone.

is measured immediately after micro chip forming using an infrared radiation pyrometer with an optical fiber. A carbon steel, a titanium, a molybdenum and a tungsten are used as work materials, and a silicon nitride Si3N4, a zirconia ZrO2 and a diamond are used as tool materials. The cutting temperature increases in proportion to the 1/2 power of cutting speed and saturates to the melting point of work material. The fraction of heat conducted into the cutting tool is independent on the cutting speed, and it becomes larger as the thermal conductivity of workpiece is smaller or that of tool material is larger. In the diamond tool which has the highest thermal conductivity, its thermal partition coefficient is the highest, but the tool tip temperature is the lowest.
