概要: High efficiency of gas absorption may be one of the important techniques for protection of global environment. A new concept of gas absorption by utilizing condensation process was proposed which is called "condensate film method", and its proof experiment was conducted with regard to the condensation heat transfer in vertical cooling tube. Theoretical analysis was performed on the critical condition of mist formation in the cooling tube flow and the falling liquid film under the same mass flow rate condition. Comparing between the both analytical results and experimental data, the concept proposed in this paper was identified and the mechanism of the gas absorption through the condensate and the mist droplets was clarified. 続きを見る

概要: As a basic research for the development of a high-performance and environment-friendly thermal energy recovery system, detailed experiments have been conducted to investigate the mechanism of the enhancement of condensation heat transfer by the counter-current moist air flow in a vertical tube. From the results of visual observation of the phenomena by using a high-speed video recorder and the measurement of condensate rate respectively from an upper and a bottom end of a cooled tube, in which various humidity vapor of air and water flowed upward or downward, the dynamic behavior of liquid film condensed on cooled surface and moist air flow was classified into four distinctive patterns in quality and quantity. Further, the effect of the scale and the operating condition such as the diameter and the length of tube, the vapor concentration and the moist air temperature, on the condensation rate of counter-current wavy flow was clarified in relation to the pattern and condition of occurrence of the wavy flow of liquid film and flooding due to the shear forces between the interface of liquid and moist air flow. 続きを見る

概要: The air cleaning is one of the social problems from the view of the living environment and the health recently. A commercial kitchen and food factory generate the exhaust gas including the odorous components and the oil-mist, but it is difficult to clean this gas without frequent maintenance for disposal of oil. Various ideas have been suggested and used for it, but the decisive solution has not been found yet. This paper is concerning of proposal of the photocatalyst method which used the condensation together to clean the gas including oil-mist and odorous component, and it was clarified experimentally about the influence of operation condition and surface shape of the condensation side for the removal of oil-mist and the odorous components of formaldehyde, amine and ammonia. 続きを見る

概要: The use of bamboo charcoal, which is one of the carbon from wood, attracts attention from the viewpoint of the environme ntal protection. Bamboo charcoal has high adsorption removal ability to various substances. In addition Bamboo charcoal is effective also for the filtration of the suspended solid and the bacterium by the macro pore that originates in the plant frame structure. In present paper, a new concept of gas clean technology by bamboo charcoal and TiO2 with UV light irradiation was proposed. Its system is composed of TiO2-coated bamboo charcoal, TiO2-coated silica gel and UV lamp. Water vapor is adsorbed by bamboo charcoal and fine particles and airborne bacterium are trapped on the surface of it. Trapped contaminant is degraded by TiO2 and UV light. In addition, the degradation is promoted by •OH produced by adsorbed water vapor. The air purification sanitization possibility in high efficiency for this system was clarified. 続きを見る

概要: A numerical investigation of the evaporation process of a water liquid droplet on the hot surface that has microstructur e is presented. The microstructure is formed out of a uni-directionally solidified alloy, the composition of the alloy being exposed to the direction of heat flow by corrosion. The structure is considered as numerous micro-pin fins. The droplet instantly penetrated through the structure of which has a specific pin height after the placement of the drop. The kinetics of the penetration is described by R2 ∝tn. In the equation R is the radius of wet stain, and the power n is typically about 0.3. The evaporation process involved in the droplet penetration is classified into the four stages. The governing equations on each stage are solved numerically using the finite-difference procedure. The analysis is simplified by assuming the surface temperature to be constant during droplet evaporation. The simulated surface temperature is lower than 373 K. The results are compared with available experimental data indicating the outcome of the droplet lifetime and the droplet shape during evaporation. The computational model provides the additional information for the effects of the fin height and initial droplet diameter. 続きを見る
