概要: 金沢大学理工研究域機械工学系<br />立方体形状の工作物の表面仕上げ法として,表面の平滑化,加工硬化ならびに圧縮残留応力の付与を目指したバニシング加工法について検討する.本加工法はフライス加工の要領で,先端に半球形状を有するダイヤモンドチ ップを高速で回転させながら,対象面上を定力下で摺動させる.本報では,高硬度材の平坦面に本加工法を適用した場合の基礎的な加工特性について,仕上げ面形状の観点から評価した結果を報告する.<br />The effectiveness of a diamond burnishing method with rotating tool, which is proposed by the authors, is investigated. A proposed hybrid-type parallel mechanism with spherical 5-degree-of-freedom range and force control was used as a burnishing machine. A diamond tipped tool, which is rotated by the high-speeed-motor spindle, was used as a burnishing tool. A hardened die steel surface were targeted. The fundamental characteristics of the proposed method were evaluated by the surface profile and appearance of the burnishing mark and metallographic structure of the burnished surface layer, and the advantages of the proposed method were clarified by comparing with the conventional method, which is without the tool rotation.<br />出版者照会後に全文公開 続きを見る

概要: 金沢大学理工研究域機械工学系<br />Friction, a quality-related property, governs not only the efficiency of processing operations but a lso the quality and performance of the final product. In this work, the frictional characteristics of 100 % polyester,nylon, and polypropylene spunbond nonwoven fabrics bonded with three bonding patterns and the differences in fabric density were tested. A whisker-type tactile sensor machine that can measure the coefficient of friction regardless of the tracing direction was used. Stick-slip trace changes according to the fabric surface morphology were observed. Furthermore, it was found that the bonding method, component filament, and fabric density have a significant influence on the frictional characteristics of spunbond nonwoven fabrics.<br />出版者照会後に全文公開 続きを見る

概要: Kinematic and static characteristics of robotic parallel crank mechanisms have been analyzed and represented in the form of charts which support rational syntheses of the mechanisms as robot and legs. Namely the value of torque of motive shafts to hold attitudes of mechanisms and the static compliance of the work points when the mechanisms take arbitrary shapes have been formulated by the total link lengths and by introducing four dimensionless parameters. Characteristic charts of statics have been made by plotting lines of positions of the output point where both of the factors are constant in dimensionless working spaces. Making use of several characteristic charts and simple transformation formulas, the values of the two factors can be analyzed, respectively, when the mechanisms take arbitrary positions and attitudes. 続きを見る

概要: The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of head rotational motion on brain shear strain. A head physical model constructed from individual medical images of a head was used for the experiments. The model consists of the parts reconstructing the skull, falx, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and brain, which represents actual human head shape. Rotational impacts were applied around frontal axis of the model under the conditions in the case that maximum angular acceleration and angular velocity were controlled. As the results of experiments, shear strain in brain part correlates strongly with peak change of angular velocity but correlates poorly with maximum angular acceleration which has been often proposed as a head injury criterion. The reason is that brain shear strain is relatively small at the time when angular acceleration reaches the peak value because relative motion of skull and brain occurs due to the structure of the head consisting brain, falx, skull and CSF. Thus, peak change of angular velocity of a head should be included in the injury criterion in the case that rotational motion of a head occurs. 続きを見る

概要: Sensing devices for intelligent tire that can measure friction coefficient of a road are researched so as to improve the performance of vehicle motion control systems such as ABS (anti-lock braking system). However, previous devices need complicated systems and do not have enough performance. This study proposes a simple tactile sensor that can measure the friction coefficient between a tire and road surface. The sensor is composed of a cantilever called "whisker" that is fixed to a base. The base is an elastic plate, and two strain gauges are attached to its surface. The whisker is passed through the hole opened to the tread of a tire and the sensor is attached to its inner surface. The whisker is covered by a domed rubber; the tip surface is used as the contact part. When the tire slips on a road and the contact part comes in contact with the surface, the vertical load and frictional force are applied to the contact part. Then, whisker is compressed and bended, so that the base is deformed elastically. The induced strains at the base from such deformation are measured by the abovementioned strain gauges. The study proposes the method determining the value of the vertical load and frictional force that acting on the tire from the measured strains and fabricates the prototype tactile sensor to confirm its availability. © 2012 The Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers. 続きを見る

概要: In this paper, Laplace transformed expressions for the torque and the bending moment in a curved beam under impact out-of-plane load were shown. Applying them to a closely coiled helical spring and using the numerical inverse transformation with FFT. the torque and the bending moment in the spring were examined for two types of boundary condition ; the first case was that impact force was applied to the end of the spring wire, and the second case was that impact force was applied on the center axis of the spring. As a result, the followings were found. The Torque induced in the spring wire propagates along its axis macroscopically with the velocity of surge wave, although it is preceded by very small one propagating with the velocity of shear wave. And large bending moment comparable with torque occurs near the end of spring just after the impact in the case of center impact, while bending moment can not occur statically. 続きを見る
