概要: 金沢大学大学院自然科学研究科機能創成システム<br />The log-polar transformation is a model of the foveal sensor, which is often seen in the vis ual apparatus of living organisms. The log-polar transformation is widely known in the field of image recognition, and has often been used for facial image recognition. However, this detection method is limited to 2D environments, since it is invariant only to scaling and rotation. This paper proposes a new log-polar transformation which also detects affine transformation parameters. The proposed method can detect the posture of a 2D image in a 3D environment, as well as scaling and rotation in a 2D environment. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 続きを見る

概要: 金沢大学工学部<br />A method was proposed for finding the position and direction of vehicles by processing the images of flat l andmarks. For multiple landmarks set in a wide area, the vehicle can run in an arbitrary space. Since a low locating accuracy was found at the right frontal area of the flat landmark, a cubic landmark is proposed here to improve the locating accuracy, and the experimental result is reported here. 続きを見る

概要: 金沢大学工学部<br />In this paper, we take aim at a flexible and active vehicle following system. To realize the system, we use a license plate instead of the devices that receive and send signals. In order to gather information from a license plate, we propose three method, one method is that continuously tracks a license plate, another is that extracts the characters under conditions of changeable and uneven illumination, and the third is that calibrates the difference between the reference template image and the image selected by correlation. From these characters in a license plate, we can determine the relative distance and angle. The effectiveness of this system is shown by the experimental results. 続きを見る
