然哲学者における神（々）は，実は超自然的なものでも非自然的なものでもなく，むしろ自然内的なものである。その神（々）は，自然の内側から世界を規制する法則・自律的原理として構想される。たしかにそれは神人同形性という特質をもたないものではあるが，不死性と偉大なる権能を所有しているものとして，依然として宗教感情の向かう対象となりうる。<br />It is often said that the presocratic philosophers reduced gods from personal beings to abstract principles through demythologization, which is not the case. Their natural principles still acted as a purposive and personal agency in the cosmological processes and such reduction had not been realized yet. As such, they are not super-natural nor non-natural but rather “intra-natural” deities ruling autonomously the world processes from inside the world.
