概要: This study deals with the trial for improvement of chip controllability in turning with selective laser heat treatment for workpiece. Selective heat treatment for carbon steel JIS S45C was carried out with Nd:YAG laser which could be transmitted through an optical fiber and shows higher absorption rate against carbon steels than CO2 laser. In turning of these selective laser heat threatened carbon steel, the chip form changed regular curl from irregular curl and chip breakability was improved compared with non-laser treated carbon steel. Surface roughness was obviously smaller comparing with non-laser treated carbon steel. Especially in the case that the depth of cut was larger, the surface roughness was smaller. As for cutting force, the principal force was slightly smaller, but the thrust force and feed force were almost the same. The cutting temperature was slightly lower. The tool wear was almost same as that in the case of non-laser treated carbon steel. 続きを見る

概要: Edge-chipping yielded by grooving of ferrite using thin diamond blade is responsible for a deterioration of an electro-magnetic property of the magnetic head. Work damage such as chipping may be closely related to the mechanical property of bonding material of thin diamond blade. Edge-chipping yielded by grooving is examined using three types of thin diamond blade whose are made of metal, resin-metal and resin bonded materials. This paper focusses on the relationship between work damage and grinding force. Experiments show that chipping size is influenced by grinding conditions and mechanical property of bonding materials. It is found that the value of maximum normal grinding force per grain is made up of good correlation for edge-chipping size. 続きを見る

概要: Induction heating type hyperthermia treatment, as one of cancer therapies, needs both high magnetic fields (> 2 mT) and a few hundred kHz inside of a body. We proposed the double-pancake type coil system sandwiching human body. The proposed exciting coils can generate magnetic fields with both magnitude and frequency required to a medical treatment, and also can adjust the distance between two flat coils according to the bodily proportions of a patient. In order to make magnetic fields inside a body further increase, a back yoke as magnetic materials is added to both coils. 概要: 金沢大学理工研究域機械工学系<br />Strain hardening of ferrite layers in pearlite microstructures plays a crucial role in the sta bility of elasto-plastic deformation of pearlite. The effects of layer thickness, crystal orientation relationship and loading direction on the strain-hardening characteristics of the ferrite layers were studied by crystal plasticity analysis. The results show that the strain-hardening rate increases in the ferrite layers with small thickness, whereas at the same thickness, the strain-hardening rate varies depending on the loading direction and crystal orientation relationship. When the Schmid factors and mean-free paths of the activated systems are small and short, the strain-hardening rate tends to be high. The ferrite layer exhibits a remarkably high strain-hardening rate when slip systems are sequentially activated with the increase of deformation. © 2017 Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining.<br />Embargo Period 12 months 続きを見る
