BI). The MBI is a widely used psychometric instrument for measuring ‘burnout’ developed by Maslach and her co-workers. The MBI consists of four subscales: Emotional Exhaustion, Personal Accomplishment, Depersonalization, and Involvement. The MBI was translated into Japanese along with a back-translation and was administered to a sample of 267 nurses. Various psychometric analyses showed that the Japanese version of the MBI has high reliability for the 22 items scored for the frequency dimension. The factor analysis using principal factoring with an oblique rotation resulted in three factor structures that had different implications from the MBI: Emotional Exhaustion/Depersonalization, Personal Accomplishment, and Physical Exhaustion. The correlationship between the MBI and the General Health Questionnaire (GHQ), measures of depression, showed that burnout was a unique phenomenon

sample of hospital workers. Exploratory factor analysis found three factors, as in original MBI-GS. Confirmatory factor analysis largely supported MBI-GS structure of three subscales, but the correlation between two subscales was unexpectedly high. To examine its construct validity, the subscale scores were then examined in relation to selected work characteristics. Conservation of resources theory was successful in its predictions of different patterns of effects among the correlates and three burnout subscales. The successful predictions suggested that meaning of each subscale was quite distinct. In all, our examination showed that Japanese MBI-GS assessed the same three dimensions as the original measure for human service workers.

げるために、ワークショップ後に看護サポートを導入した。ワークショップはバーンアウト・バスターズと命名し、2段階構成(ビギナーズコース、アドバーンスコース)とした。また、そのための教材冊子や資料等を作成した。それらは、研究代表者(北岡和代 金沢医科大学)と研究分担者(慶應義塾大学 増田真也)らが翻訳した書籍(バーンアウト;仕事とうまくつきあうための6つの戦略、2008)に基づいている。<br />We organized the certain strategy for preventing burnout that could be applied to Japanese workers. We developed the work-shop based on the strategies by well-known burnout researchers, Leiter MP and Maslach C. Further, nursing support was set up after the work-shop for effective outcomes. The work-shop was named 'Burnout Busters' and consisted of two sessions : beginners course, advanced course. The work book and materials were prepared by researchers.
